The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site encompasses the two-story home where King was born in 1929 (a replica of his crib is in his parents' room); Ebenezer Baptist Church, where his father and grandfather were pastors (and where he later served as co-pastor); and his grave site. Low formed the U.S. Girl Guides in 1912she based it on the already existing English organizationand changed the name to the Girl Scouts a year later. She was also an accomplished sculptor and painter. Watercolors, portraits of her parents, and hand-painted china are on display in the house where she was born on Halloween night in 1860.
